«Irdieden»

Irdieden are the current trend in low level firework displays. Home of Irdieden or Catherine wheels is Malta. Irdieden are the composite wheels which produce huge kaleidoscopic fireworks using wheels, chain drivers and differential gears. These geometric figures of various forms, sizes and striking bright colours are driven automatically, like a children’s kaleidoscope, and they are also accompanied with luminescent light of the most magnificent colour range.

Various wheels, from small to the big ones (of nine meters in diameter), are fixed to big poles (masts). The audience doesn’t see the moment when they start moving, but the golden flashes are showing up, getting brighter and then turning into the magic spinning stars!
